SLIPKNOT, TOOL, AMON AMARTH… Which one is your favourite? This is our list with 10 Best Metal Albums of 2019

These are the top 10 Best Metal Albums of 2019. This list has been made using the votes that have been cast by the readers of our online magazine.

10 10 – Beast in Black – “From Hell With Love”

“From Hell With Love” by BEAST in BLACK is an interesting and sometimes even disconcerting album. We will find super powerful songs, others that play dangerously with disco sounds, but above all we will find great melodies, a powerful voice, interesting choirs and finally all you need to have a good time.

9 9 – Freedom Call – “M.E.T.A.L.”

It’s impossible to talk about actual power metal without Freedom Call. The German melodic metal band released their new studio album «M.E.T.A.L.».

8 8 – Overkill – “The Wings of War”

In the eighth position we get tough with Overkill´s album “The Wings of War.” New Jersey’s legendary Thrashers, OVERKILL, released their 19th studio album, “The Wings Of War,” on February 22, 2019 through Nuclear Blast.

“The Wings Of War” was recorded at Gear Recording Studio in New Jersey, SKH Studio in Florida and Jrod Productions with engineering by DD and Dave. The album was produced by the band while Chris «Zeuss» Harris was responsible for mixing and mastering. Travis Smith (NEVERMORE, OPETH, SOILWORK, DEATH…) signed up once again to create the cover for the album.

7 7 – KORN – “The Nothing”

KORN remain strong year after year. Now in 2019 the precursor band Nu Metal is still int he first line with this new album “The Nothing”. In a year when metal giants RAMMSTEIN, SLIPKNOT or TOOL have delivered albums that will ensure that their legacy, KORN had the pressure to do so and deal with them this year.

This record, “The Nothing,” is urgent and important to ensure that veterans do not get lost in the confusion. There is an admirable survival persistence that only the precursors or inventors of Nu Metal can have.

6 6 – Slipknot – “We Are Not Your Kind”

Of course, SLIPKNOT must be on this list with the best Heavy Metal releases of 2019. Fast, unplayable, and cannot be postponed, so we got the sixth band album: «We Are Not Your Kind».

It’s uncompromising, relentless and unrepentant, and it’s exactly the album that Des Moines wanted to hear, maybe for a decade. For SLIPKNOT, there is truth in pain and positivity in cynicism.

5 – Tool – “Fear Inoculum”

“Fear Inoculum” is the fifth studio album by American progressive rock band Tool. It was released on August 30, 2019, through RCA Records. It´s been a long time, 13 years waiting, due to creative, personal, and legal issues that band members encountered since the release of 10,000 Days. The album consists of seven main tracks of music, and a run time just short of 80 minutes.

The band also will be on tour in 2020, this is the US tour info

5 4 – Rammstein – “Rammstein”

Just one step away the podium it is RAMMSTEIN. RAMMSTEIN takes with this album “Rammstein” of 2019 a continuation of his previous work in terms of quality and feelings.

“Rammstein” was released through Universal Music on 17 May 2019. heir first studio album in ten years, it is their first not to be produced by Jacob Hellner; The video for song “Deutschland” was directed by Specter Berlin and was released online on 28 March 2019. The video preview sparked criticism a few hours after release. The dark, violent, even macabre video, typical for the band, features various events from Germany’s history.

4 3 – Dream Theater – “Distance Over Time”

We continue with more prog-rock to open the podium. “Distance over Time” is the fourteenth studio album by the American progressive metal band Dream Theater, released on February 22, 2019.

This album is 100% Dream Theater. Probably it lacks of anything really new or different but compared to almost any other music it’s seem to be absolutely brilliant.

3 2 – SABATON – “The Great War”

SABATON´s “The Great War” is the ninth album of the Swedish power metal band that was released in July 2019.

“The Great War” has not great surprise elements. It´s just SABATON´s power metal. But is a record designed for live shows, short songs full of many catchy moments that make you move with the rhythm of epic melodies.

A few days ago Sabaton unleashed new cinematic music video for the song SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM, filmed under difficult circumstances in the Sahara desert.

2 1 – Amon Amarth – “Berserker”

Amon Amarth are the winners of best Heavy Metal album of 2019 with their album “Berserker”.

Amon Amarth is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Tumba, formed in 1992. The band emerged from the previous death metal band Scum, founded in 1988 by Paul “Themgoroth” Mäkitalo (Dark Funeral) on vocals, Olavi Mikkonen on lead guitar, Petri Tarvainen on bass and Vesa Meriläinen rhythm guitar.

Today, Amon Amarth stand tall and unassailable: over 25 years into a career that has seen them evolve from humble origins in the dark, dank rehearsal rooms of their native Tumba to their current status as explosive festival headliners and one of the metal world’s most widely adored bands. Their most recent album, 2015’s Jomsviking, hit the #1 spot in Germany’s official album chart and swiftly became their most successful worldwide release to date. As a result, Amon Amarth are very much at the height of their powers as they prepare to return to action in 2019, with their biggest, boldest and most bombastic musical statement to date.
