Metallica will headline and perform two sets a piece at five U.S. festivals in 2020 organized by Danny Wimmer Presents. The legendary metal band will play between May and October. :

  • Epicenter
  • Welcome To Rockville
  • Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival
  • Louder Than Life
  • Aftershock

The five events will host Metallica’s only U.S. festival appearances of 2020. Metallica will change up the setlist for each performance with 10 different shows expected over the course of the year.

Epicenter will be held May 1 – 3 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, while Welcome To Rockville is set for May 8 – 10 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival will take place May 15 – 17 at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Louder Than Life comes to Highland Festival Grounds in Louisville September 18 – 20 and Aftershock is slated for October 9 – 11 at Sacramento’s Discovery Park.

“Metallica isn’t just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it’s an event. It’s an experience. That’s the same standard we’ve set for every DWP festival – from the first band to the last band, and everything that happens in between. I can’t wait to bring the biggest band in the world to the biggest rock festivals in America,” said Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument, or first started a band, because of Metallica?”

Since their debut in 1981, Metallica has established themselves as one of the most iconic and progressive heavy metal bands in rock and roll history. With a massive loyal fan base, and over 30 years of commercial success selling over 110 million records, Metallica continues to cement their legacy as metal gods. And there are no signs of slowing down for James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo, so it is safe to say that Metallica will continue head banging for years to come.
