Countdown to Mad Cool Festival: Exploring the Must-See Artists of its Sixth Edition

After selling out general access 3-day passes, Mad Cool Festival 2023 enters the final phase before its celebration on July 6th, 7th and 8th in Villaverde, Madrid.

Only 28 days left for the arrival of one of the most anticipated lineups of the year, consisting of 101 national and international bands, which include names of artists that will make this an unforgettable edition.

Robbie Williams has been at the top of the music charts for years and will headline on Thursday 6th. In one of his latest interviews, he has once again surprised his millions of fans by claiming that he has had several aliens encounters … And his performance at Mad Cool Festival will be out of this world.

That same day, Lizzo’s songs will not stop people from dancing to them. The American singer is pure energy and positivity. With her pop culture, she has conquered millions of fans with her songs ‘Juice’ or ‘About Danm Time’. Songs that have not stopped playing on all platforms and social networks during this last year.

The first day will also be starred by Lil Nas X. The American queer rapper will bring the house down, just like he brought the music scene down when he released ‘Old Town Road’. As he says in his song, “Can’t nobody tell me nothing, You can’t tell me nothing…”, and nobody will be able to say anything negative about his performance after enjoying his eclectic sound and daring performance.

Rina Sawayama, with two studio albums, the last one released this year, comes to Madrid to demonstrate that her alternative style has succeeded wherever it sounds. This British singer has revolutionized the UK scene in recent years. Since its release, her debut album “Rina” (self-produced) continues to sound everywhere and, with her characteristic vibe, she has become one of the biggest bets of this year’s line-up.

On Friday 7, Queens of the Stone Age returns to Mad Cool Festival after passing through its stage in the 2018 edition. The American band will be debuting after the release of their eighth studio album “In Times New Roman…” on June 16. The band´s return means that if there´s a need to talk about Stoner and Alternative Rock, they have a lot to say.

The guitars of The Black Keys will also sound that day. Which are an essential part of the most current Blues Rock, they have not stopped releasing hits in recent years and it seems that in 2024 they will continue to increase the list. They have just announced that they are preparing a new album that will be “epic”. With the excitement of this news, it will be impossible to silence the audience that will be chanting along Dan Auerbach’s unmistakable voice at Mad Cool Festival.

Also, on Friday night, the dazzling Sam Smith will make his way through. Sophisticated and ground breaking, he is already considered a reference for the new generations, whom he will conquer with a super glam and purely vindictive show, which  could not be missing on Mad Cool´s stage on this sixth edition.

Saturday the 8th will be the eagerly awaited turn of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anthony, Flea, John and Chad will take the festival to a new dimension with their electrifying funk-rock. A date in which they will celebrate their 40 years of career. Despite their long career, the Californian band lands with their essence intact and will blow up Mad Cool Festival´s main stage, a concert where thousands of fan will join in too.

Liam Gallagher, one of the great voices of Britpop in the 90s, will join in on Saturday’s line-up as one of the last rock stars of the music scene. This performance will be a great attraction for those Oasis fans who have been waiting 10 years for the reconciliation of The two Brothers. This mythical musical love-hate relationship, in which Liam and Noel Gallagher haven’t stopped making fun of each other, is burning down the media networks. Will there finally be a comeback? Until then, their songs will be blaring on stage at Mad Cool, proving that they are musical anthems that transcend from generation to generation.

And the kings of British electronica The Prodigy, could not be missing with songs as recognizable as ‘Voodoo People’ or ‘Take Me to the Hospital’, will make the audience go crazy. After a well-deserved break, they return with their Big Beat genre making it clear that there is still a big space waiting for them on the big stages. Their energetic sets will remain in the audience´s memory as one of the highlights of Mad Cool 2023.

Three full days of live music with top level bands and a commitment to the mix of different artistic projects have led Mad Cool Festival to become one of the mandatory stops on the tour of national and international festivals. A musical and cultural reference in Madrid that will attract thousands of people who will move to the capital from different parts of the world.
