Since their formation back in 1990, Tool has become one of the most interesting projects in American rock music. Members Danny Carey, Adam Jones, Maynard Keenan, and Justin Chancellor ushered Tool into the heavy metal music scene in their early years, but soon began to experiment with the band’s sound. In 2001, Tool released their legendary album Lateralus, a brilliant combination of music experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal, human growth. Since Lateralus, Tool has been regarded as not only one of the most prominent alternative rock bands, but as a pioneer of psychedelic and art rock.
